I keep watching
Eyes are stuck.
Can’t move them away
Can’t stop looking
I watch
And watch as the polish man falls to his death
And the RCMP officers watch and ask
Is he conscious?
Is he conscious?
Are they fucking kidding me?
Do we leave the safety of our lives to these inept men?
Is he conscious?
As I leave behind the 24 other people in the class and transcend into a state of shock.
I question the world we live in
The country we live in
The fucking police officers that killed that innocent polish man.
His life will not be avenged
How do we serve justice?
We live in the 21st century
We live in
We live in a land of justice
We live in a place where the rights of a human being are put forth right.
Indifferent of his race, nationality, gender, age or whatever
Justice will not prevail
His life will not be fucking avenged.
This is not a democracy; it’s a quiet fascist state.
We live,
Because we are blind
We are deaf
We are mute
We are subservient to our own faults.
Big brother loves you, won’t you love him back?
Fight for this man’s life like he was your brother.
Fight for his rights like if he was a Canadian
Fight for his life as if he was a white man.
Do not cover the foot steps of the RCMP
Stone
And pebbles
Thrown at the patrol cars
Find justice
Where it is not available
Where it is not given to those of lower status
To the proletarians
Save us from them
Cry, because that’s what the future asks of us.
