Whenever I do a painting I learn something new, with the first one I tried a textured technique for the background. And for the second one was probably my first attempt at mixed-media. I created the ruffles with plaster strips.
It's just so much fun to paint. It lets you escape reality. At times you become so engrossed in your work that you transcend and everything transforms into a mode of unexistence.

Our house is still pretty bare, we have most of the furniture, but have not yet got to the decorating part. So I did a painting for the family room, and hopefully will get to more.
