1. suggest good books (and by good I mean epic page turners)
2. post good recipes - (something that you have tried already)
3. suggest good music - (no heavy metal or country please)
I need things to do, stat.

I do not know about epic, but Ishmael? I can't recall if you've head it.
food - I do not experiment much, but make butter chicken? or: http://community.livejournal.com/bakebakebake/2630801.html#cutid1 or: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Balsamic-Glazed-Salmon-with-Spinach-Olives-and-Golden-Raisins-357270 http://surbanexpressions.blogspot.com/2010/01/i-cant-believe-i-made-these.html
Read the Song of Ice and Fire series. It is an epic series, in the real sense of the word. Maybe you aren't into medieval history, but the gritty politics might be more your thing. The first book is the Game of Thrones, by George R. R. Martin. What I love about it is that your estimations of who is the protagonist, and who is the antagonist change over time, and that nothing, absolutely NOTHING is sacred.
@ rabita, thank you but the links are cut off. and you already showed me that song and I was meh about it. It's not /as/ meh on the second listen though.
@ nick, I might give it a try although I don't know if it's really my thing, and I am not willing to commit to such a long series right now.
You're not really under any obligation to finish the series if you don't like the first one. But yeah, I know, you might not like it. Then again, I said that about Lord of the Rings, as well. SOIAF is like a much more realistic LOTR. There is no big dark enemy. It's realistic, its gritty, and fantastically written.
