the horrible freedom of choice.

yesterday I was lured into some decision making, by my parents.

We have booked a house that is to be built by November 2009. So, yesterday we went to the Sales Centre to decide on kitch cabinets, back splashes, tiles, trims, bathroom cabinets, wall tiles, carpet, panel colours, brick colours, cabinet handles, and oh so so much more. It was literally 6 hours of deliberating between my parents, sister and I on which colour and style of each little detail to get. do we get contrasting colours? upgrades? neutrals? will this get dirty easily? will this last long?

One thing I learned was that I hate medium coloured woods. Dark looks good, light looks good, anything in between is just ugly. also I prefer cooler colours rather than browns, unlike most people. For the exterior of the house we ended up choosing light neutrals. That was the only thing we finalized, because we had to by yesterday. Everything else is still kind of up in the air, and I am sure that my parents will just go back and choose everything they initially liked. Although they were surprisingly considerate of our input. It was a good experience, as I overdosed on the free tea/coffee. There were 5 different kinds, what else was I supposed to do, other than to try each.

I really like dark tiles, almost black tiles, my parents hate it. I hope we get them.

anyway, yesterday wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be. I had fun (with my parents).

oh btw, I am in Ottawa.
I really like coming here. It's cold, but fressh.
I think I am going to love living here. (Inshallah)

take care,

I am glad you had a good time with your parents. On my car ride, I stupidly realized I didn't bring my CD player or ANY books to read.
So, on the ride there, I woke up around 10:30 and actually /talked/ to my parents, it was strange, but not terrible. Then I drifted back into sleep.

I think I Will have fun living there too. =]
