Did anyone else notice that the man run over was also of African American Heritage? Probably not that much of a factor, but an issue to consider, possibly. Not something that should be publicized like crazy though, because then you'll get insane rioters who believe it was the sole reason for this occurrence, and then the nation will go into a media 'blitz', as you say.
I don't think people considered his skin colour or heritage before walking over him. They were probably preoccupied with thoughts of which brand of underwear or mascara was cheaper.
